The Peplink MAX Dome is a 5G router for outdoor use: modem and antennas sit in a weatherproof enclosure mounted high on the mast or roof, where reception is best. A single Ethernet cable carries power and data. On vessels it replaces or complements satellite near the coast and in port, usually at a much lower cost per gigabyte.
Not every deployment justifies a purchase. A charter season, a refit, a three-month offshore campaign or a construction site until completion: for these, DRYNET rents Domes including data plan, mounting and operations. Afterwards we dismount, or you take over the device.

Which data plan is included?
Depending on the operating area, an M2SEA SIM with roaming in more than 50 countries or a 5G plan for Germany. The data volume is matched to your needs; additional data packages can be booked during the rental period.
What is the minimum rental period?
Because mounting and configuration take effort, Dome rental usually makes sense from about one month. The exact minimum and the conditions for season and project rentals are stated in the quote.
Who mounts the Dome?
Easiest is our engineer, on board or on site. Alternatively we deliver the device preconfigured with mounting instructions and your crew or yard mounts it. Configuration stays with us either way.
How far does 5G reach at sea?
It depends on coastline, network build-out and weather; in practice often a few nautical miles off the coast, continuously in port and on inland waters. Beyond that we combine the Dome with Starlink or VSAT.
Why would I need the SIM Injector?
The Dome sits high on the mast, where nobody wants to change SIM cards. The SIM Injector holds up to 8 SIMs indoors and feeds the Dome over up to 100 m of cable. Useful with several operators or frequent country changes.
Can I combine the Dome with Starlink?
Yes, that is our standard setup at sea. Peplink SpeedFusion joins both paths; if one fails, traffic continues over the other. DRYNET is not a Starlink reseller. We source Starlink hardware and service plans through our partner Tototheo; we advise on satellite communication, install and commission the terminals and integrate Starlink into your network. How do I see whether the connection is up?
Through Peplink InControl2 we, and on request you, see WAN status, signal strength, data usage and position. Incidents trigger alerts, see Monitoring & Alerting.
What happens in case of defect or damage?
In case of a technical defect we provide a replacement. How loss and damage during the rental period are handled, and whether an insurance option is available, is set out in the rental agreement; you receive the details with the quote.
Can I buy the Dome at the end?
Yes. After the season or project you can take over the device. Whether and how we credit rental payments is agreed case by case.
Is the Dome suitable for camera surveillance on construction sites?
Yes, with a fixed IP or VPN for camera access. Observe the data-protection rules: legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, in publicly accessible areas additionally Section 4 BDSG, visible signs before people enter the area and short retention periods (the supervisory authorities cite 72 hours as a guideline). The assessment lies with the camera operator.
