SKYPACK 5G is DRYNET's portable internet access in a case. Inside the hardcase you find a Starlink terminal, a 5G router, a battery and a preconfigured VPN. You set the case down, point the antenna at the sky and are online within minutes, with no engineer, no mains power and no fixed line.
The need comes from our work on vessels, construction sites and remote locations. There you get either satellite or cellular, rarely both reliably. SKYPACK 5G uses both paths at the same time. If one fails, the other takes over.
The unit started life as a backpack. Since 2025 we ship it in a rugged, waterproof hardcase with controlled-opening front locks so nothing falls out on the move. The technology inside is the same.

Starlink terminal
Low-latency satellite internet anywhere with a clear view of the sky. Data plan through our partner Tototheo, commissioned and integrated by DRYNET.
5G router
Cellular as the second path. Works with an M2SEA SIM in more than 50 countries, or with your own SIM.
Battery
Operation without mains power. Runtime depends on load and ambient temperature; details on request.
VPN & network separation
Encrypted tunnel to your company network or to our cloud. Separate guest and work networks can be set up on request.
How a deployment works
Set up
Open the case, place the Starlink antenna with a clear view upwards, connect the cables. Setup takes a few minutes.
Switch on
Router and terminal start from the battery. The connection comes up automatically and the Wi-Fi is available straight away.
Work
Laptops, cameras, payment terminals or sensors connect via Wi-Fi or LAN. The router sends traffic over the best available path.
Monitor
On request we watch link quality and data usage in our monitoring and react before you notice a problem.

Why Starlink and 5G together
Starlink delivers high bandwidth almost anywhere, but needs a clear view of the sky and can drop briefly in rain, snow or congestion. 5G is strong in cities and along coasts, often weak in rural areas and inside halls.
SKYPACK 5G combines both paths. The router constantly checks the quality of both links and routes traffic accordingly. A livestream or a VPN session stays up even if one path drops for a moment. It is the same principle we use with Peplink SpeedFusion on vessels, see Hybrid Connectivity.
We choose the Starlink data plan to match the location: a standard plan ashore, a priority plan for livestreams or fixed IP addresses. For the cellular path, M2SEA supplies the SIM.
DRYNET is not a Starlink reseller. We source Starlink hardware and service plans through our partner Tototheo; we advise on satellite communication, install and commission the terminals and integrate Starlink into your network. Buy or rent?
Both are possible. Prices are on request because data plan and configuration depend on the deployment.

- Managed service: we monitor connection and usage, update firmware and provide a replacement unit by arrangement if it fails

Frequently asked questions about SKYPACK 5G
How fast is SKYPACK 5G online?
Once set up with a clear view of the sky, Starlink typically connects within a few minutes. The 5G path is usually up even sooner and bridges the start.
How long does the battery last?
It depends on load, number of users and ambient temperature. We give you realistic figures for your deployment in the quote. For continuous operation, connect the case to mains or a power station.
Is the data plan included?
For rental, yes: we source the Starlink data plan through our partner Tototheo and deliver it commissioned with the terminal; the 5G volume comes via M2SEA. For purchase we advise you on plan and contract model. Availability of Starlink services is subject to the provider's terms for the respective area of use.
Does it work without a view of the sky, for example inside a hall?
Starlink needs a clear view. Inside halls SKYPACK 5G works over the 5G path. Alternatively, place the antenna outside and run the cable indoors.
Can I use my own SIM cards?
Yes. The 5G router accepts your own SIM. For deployments in several countries we recommend the M2SEA SIM with roaming in more than 50 countries.
How secure is the connection?
Traffic runs through a preconfigured VPN to your company network or to our cloud. Guest and work networks can be separated. Read more under Secure Remote Access.
How many users can I connect?
One case covers a site office, a camera crew or a crisis team. For public areas we add access points and a switch. We size it together with you.
Can I use SKYPACK 5G on a vessel?
As an interim solution in port, during refit or sea trials, yes. For permanent use at sea we recommend a fixed installation with a Peplink Dome and a maritime Starlink plan.
Who helps if something goes wrong during deployment?
Our team in Kiel, optionally with 24/7 support and monitoring, so that we often see incidents before you notice them.
