One router for everything that moves
Service vehicles, workboats, site containers, camera poles: all need a router that does 5G, runs on 12 or 24 volts, tolerates vibration and can be managed remotely. That is what Peplink built the MAX BR1 for. The BR1 Mini 5G is the compact, affordable variant for mass deployments; the BR1 Pro 5G adds Wi-Fi 6, a 2.5 Gigabit port and more SpeedFusion performance.
Both are multi-WAN routers: next to the 5G modem they take an Ethernet WAN such as Starlink and can use third-party Wi-Fi as another link. SpeedFusion fails over without interruption or bonds the links. Need more? The BR2 Pro brings two 5G modems.
- 5G Sub-6 GHz (SA/NSA), two SIM slots plus eSIM
- Runs on 10–30 V DC or PoE, ignition sensing, GPIO
- SpeedFusion hot failover, smoothing and bonding
- Managed centrally in InControl2, remote access via InTouch

BR1 Mini 5G plus Starlink Mini: the mobile kit
A combination we ship often: Starlink Mini as Ethernet WAN on the BR1 Mini 5G, an M2SEA or carrier SIM in the router. While Starlink is up, traffic goes via satellite; when the antenna is obstructed or the vehicle drives under trees, 5G takes over. With SpeedFusion hot failover the video call stays up instead of reconnecting.
The kit fits in a case and runs off the vehicle battery. We deliver it pre-configured with a VPN into your network, remote access via InControl2 and a data plan for your operating area. We source Starlink Mini and the Starlink plan through our partner Tototheo; DRYNET is not a Starlink reseller but commissions and integrates. More under Hybrid Connectivity.
Typical deployments for the MAX BR1
Small enough for the console, rugged enough for the crane.
What DRYNET adds to the BR1
The router is half the solution.
- Pre-configuration: VLANs, firewall, VPN, SpeedFusion profile
- SIM strategy: M2SEA at sea and abroad, carrier or multi-network SIM on land
- Antennas and brackets matched to vehicle roof, mast or container
- SpeedFusion endpoint: FusionHub or SpeedFusion Connect
- Onboarding into InControl2 and our monitoring, firmware updates
- Care plan management and renewal, replacement units on request
- Technician training and documentation per vehicle or site
Frequently asked questions about the Peplink MAX BR1
BR1 Mini 5G or BR1 Pro 5G – which one fits?
The Mini is enough for single cameras, vehicles with a few users and site containers where 300 Mbps will do. The Pro pays off above roughly 20 users, for Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit requirements and full-bandwidth SpeedFusion. We recommend by use case, not by price list.
Is a BR1 enough for a vessel?
For small boats with an external antenna, yes. On vessels from about 20 metres with crew Wi-Fi and several decks we recommend the Peplink Dome on the mast: the antennas sit where the signal is and cable loss disappears.
Does the BR1 work with Starlink Mini?
Yes. Starlink Mini connects via Ethernet as a WAN, the Starlink router in bypass mode. The BR1 handles routing, firewall and failover. On the Mini 5G this needs the feature pack or an active PrimeCare plan, which unlocks Ethernet WAN.
What does SpeedFusion cost on the BR1?
On the Mini, hot failover, smoothing and bonding come with the feature pack or PrimeCare; on the Pro they are active with PrimeCare. The endpoint is SpeedFusion Connect (Peplink cloud, data allowance included with PrimeCare) or a FusionHub we set up and, on request, operate for you. Prices on request.
Can site cameras simply record over the BR1?
Only under Section 4 BDSG and the GDPR: legitimate interest, visible signage naming the controller, cameras limited to the site, short retention periods and access for authorised staff only. The BR1 provides encrypted transmission and separated networks; the legal assessment lies with the construction company. We help with the technical side, such as VPN and access rules.
How does the BR1 differ from a Teltonika router?
Teltonika makes solid industrial routers for simple connections. The difference is SpeedFusion: seamless failover, bonding and smoothing in this form exist only at Peplink, plus InControl2 for fleets. For a single 5G link without redundancy a simpler router will do. Which solution fits your deployment is something we clarify in conversation.
Can I rent a BR1?
For projects and events we provide BR1 kits including a data plan on request, together with Starlink if wanted. The Peplink Dome is permanently in our rental programme: Peplink Dome rental.
